Augusta, November 24 -- William Buford, one of the best known citizens in the farming section of South Carolina near Augusta, died Sunday at a local hospital after a short illness, aged 55 years. The funeral occurred at Sweet Hollow church, near Jackson, S. C., yesterday afternoon. Mr. Buford was a native of Aiken County, living there most of his life, but residing in Augusta a part of the last seven years. He is survived by four sons: Marion B., William H., Bryan and Frank T. Buford of Augusta; three daughters, Mrs. W. E. Lass and Miss Leola Buford, of Augusta and Mrs. C. V. Boyle of Newbern, N. C.; one brother Enoch Buford of Ellenton S. C.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ora Gregory and Mrs. Gallagher, both of Aiken, S. C.
