different times in our research, have scratched our heads
and silently (or maybe not so silent) said very bad things about those
supposedly brilliant people who have ridden for miles from house to house and
farm to farm gathering information that we today, find invaluable. That
is, until we run across something that leave us absolutely clueless ~ ink blobs
~ misspelled names ~ or unreadable names ~ abbreviations that the census taker
