The top - on a clear day you could see all the way West into Utah.
Looking down the mountain towards Telluride ~
Still a long, long way to go.

Taken from the car window - no room to open the door and get out -
That first step would put you hundreds of feet down the mountain side.
This was a dirt road wide enough for only ONE car. 
If you met a car coming uphill in the opposite direction
he would be forced to back up until they came
to a turn out wide enough to pass. 
This is the final descent into Telluride.
What a wonderfully exciting, sometimes scary, day.
I'll do it again but in a Jeep next time.
The day after we took this trip a rented jeep
with two adults and three children plunged off the side of the rode
in this picture and killed all of them.
