Prominent Midway citizen buried at Lexington following Ceremony at Home

Midway, KY., July 14 - Funeral services for H. C.
Poynter, who died Saturday night after a lingering illness were held at the
residence Monday morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. E. C. Lynch, pastor of the
Presbyterian church of Versailles, assisted by the Rev. R. S. Wilson, of the
Christian church, officiating.
The body was taken to the Lexington cemetery for burial.
Mr. Poynter was 68 years old and for 35 years had been assistant cashier of the Citizen's Bank. He was a Christian man and has many friends here.
His widow, Mrs. Margaret Poynter, and a half sister, Mrs. Anna Kavanaugh, who lately moved from Arkansas to make her home with him, survive.
Active pallbearers were: Richard Godson, M. D.
Offutt, E. L. Davis, Ben Hieatt, James Withrow and T. F. McGeough.
Honorary: Henry L. Mastin, Sr., J. C. Derrett, J. A. Steele, Dr. B. F.
Parrish, Breckinridge Viley, Dr. W. E. Risque, Judge Robert L. Stout, Matt T.
