MINISTER SHOT BY CRAZY MAN
Prominent Atlanta Presbyterian Minister Lost his life.
Claude Anderson just released from Insane Asylum.
Atlanta, February 17, Rev. Gaston B. Buford, pastor of the Moore Memorial Presbyterian church, was shot and instantly killed here tonight by Claude Anderson, recently released from the insane asylum, who at the time was trying to exterminate his wife's family.
The preacher heard shots and the woman screaming, and he was killed as he hastened to enter the house. A relative of Anderson's wife rushed to the scene, seized one of the two pistols Anderson was using and killed him.
The mother-in-law and another woman were wounded by Anderson before aid came.
The incident caused a big sensation here, and it is especially deplored by the friends of Rev. Mr. Buford who was a prominent minister.
It is said Anderson had planned to kill his wife's entire family, starting at the mother-in-law. He is believed to have been madly insane at the time.
